The Canadian Rockies, which runs through British Columbia, are incredibly majestic and beautiful to say the least. Ski season starts during the first weeks of November and ends in May. Vacationing in Canada is sure to be an unforgettable experience with its abundance of snow, a wide selection of accommodations, high-class lifts, and a lot of other winter activities that you can get your hands on. Canada is known for having the best in terms of visitor’s contentment since the people are very warm and accommodating. As they say, here in Canada you get the best at a very affordable price. Whether you’re a beginner or a professional skier, you can choose from Canada’s many diverse terrains, trails and routes. There will be something for everyone to try such as the graceful slopes for the beginners and the more challenging trails and even secret spots that the advanced skiers can try. Highly qualified instructors are always available if you need help or if you just want to improve your skills further in skiing. This is also a good place to take your kids with you because there are available child care centers in various resorts to keep the kids busy as well. Another famous sport that Canada offers is Heliskiing. This was developed by Hans Gmoser- an Austrian. The primary reason for this sport is to enable skiers to go to the wild and natural peaks. Mike Wiegele and Herb Bleuer also developed their own Heliskiing operations although not many skiers could afford this method of reaching the seldom visited peaks and wild slopes. However, skiers around the world were engrossed by this new innovation that led them exploring the range called Bugaboos. This later became a popular and common word between skiers who are bent into skiing adventures. Aside from skiing, you can also enjoy a wide array of activities such as ice skating, snow tubing, dog sledding and a lot more. Make your choice whether to stay in hotels, condos, or you can also opt to rent a cozy cottage. And when you get tired from all that skiing, there are many restaurants and cafes to choose from with international dishes or bars that offer Canadian food specialties as well, to perk you up for another round the next day. And to prove that Canada is the perfect place to take a break from the humdrums of life, recently, Canada was the recipient of The Best Overall Ski Destination award and the Most Scenic and Best Value for Money Award given by media and sports enthusiasts worldwide.

Imagine fresh, clean and unpolluted air, wonderful and breathtaking scenery, and beautiful mountains. Well, there could only be one place you’re thinking of and it doesn’t get much better than Austria.

Austria is a country known for being a skiing fanatic’s paradise. It is a provincial land for farming that has really transformed itself into a ski paradise over the last few years and is now well-known for its unparalleled resorts and trails. It offers thousands of ski trails that are sure to satisfy everyone’s needs, be it a beginner or an expert.

Its trails and slopes are generally tamer compared to that of other countries or resorts. If you’re skiing skills need a bit more polishing, don’t worry because highly qualified and top-notch instructors and mountain guides will be glad to help you. Austria is also the perfect place to visit if you plan to take it easy on the trails as most of the routes are easy and you can try tree skiing or you could also ski in one of the meadows and glens.

Many resorts are now also equipped with the latest equipments such as snow bikes, snow scooters, snow fox and snow boards. It even has the latest Ice Technology which allows vacationers to ski in perfect conditions even if the winter does not bring enough snow.

One of the very first resorts to open in Austria is the Kitzbühel which offers the best rates compared to other resorts around the world. It has 60 lifts and is notable for its après-ski. Up to this day, it remains as one of the most popular places that avid skiers visit. This resort hosts the famous Hahnenkamm Downhill, an extremely difficult and challenging race held every month of January.

Tyrol, a ski province in Austria can claim the recognition as to the place where modern skiing began. It is said to have started specifically in the St. Anton and the Arlberg region. In the 1920’s, Hannes Schneider developed the stem turn which eclipsed the Norwegian telemark technique. Another Austrian, Dr. Stefan Kruckenhauser also developed the Wedeln technique at the Bundessportheim in St. Christoph. During the ’60s and ’70s, Karl Schranz, a local of St. Anton, became the idol of the Austrian ski team for a generation.

Austria, which is renowned for the Alps, has really managed to balance modernity while still remaining picturesque and quaint. From being a farming country to becoming one of the leaders and innovators in the world of skiing, Austria has really come a long way.

France is one of the top countries to visit if it has anything to do with snow sports. France has over 300 ski resorts which you can choose from and many would consider this country as the best place for skiing. This is not bad for a country where the skiing business started only around the mid-60’s compared with the other countries.

French sportsmen are fast becoming one of the best in skiing competitions. Because of this, we can say that the popularity of the sport was improved. This is evident when about 5 million French citizens choose to go on a skiing vacation here.

If you’re going to France, you can visit either The Alps or the Pyrenees for skiing. There are around 400 resorts that you can choose from in the Alps area alone and this covers about 6% of the entire Alps region. You can find here the Vallée Blanche, which has the largest lift-accessed vertical drop and has the longest run as well. The Chamonix, situated in the Haute-Savoie region, is considered as one of the world’s leading mountaineering centers and this is where Mont Blanc, the legendary and highest mountain in the Alps is also located. The Chamonix is also the ski center with the most number of visitors worldwide. In Pyrenees, meanwhile, you can find several resorts that offer at least 750 meters of vertical drop such as Les Angles, Peyragudes, and Piau Engaly.

Skiing in this country starts by autumn season and ends during the month of May. Resorts in this country also offer a one ski pass policy wherein a ski pass can be used in many resorts, thus allowing a wide array of choices of skiing trails during their stay. There are also various options for your accommodations ranging from traditional and customary to simple apartments and modest resorts to a four or five class hotel. Truly, you can have the best options for your dream ski vacation either alone or with your family.

Spending your vacation in France may hurt your pockets a bit but you are sure to get your money’s worth and this country offers endless possibilities and top-notch quality vacation. They say that even if you spend several seasons in France and ski in a different trail everyday, you would still need about ten more years to discover every trail and territory that France has to offer.
